What boiler relocation covers

Boiler relocation is more than physically moving the unit. It involves redesigning the connections and flue route so the system remains safe, reliable and compliant.

• Assessment of the existing boiler and system, plus options for the new location
• Checks for clearances, ventilation needs (where applicable) and safe access for servicing
• Re-routing of heating and hot water pipework to suit the new position
• Alterations to gas supply pipework (sized correctly for the appliance)
• Condensate pipework and safety discharge pipework arranged to current requirements
• Flue installation or alteration to the boiler manufacturer’s instructions and Building Regulations
• Electrical connections and controls wiring adjustments where required
• Full commissioning and safety testing, with handover documentation

When boiler relocation is the right choice

• You are refurbishing a kitchen, bathroom or utility area and need the wall or cupboard space
• You want better access for servicing, fault-finding and future replacement
• The current boiler position causes noise in a bedroom or living space
• The existing flue route is awkward, poorly placed, or needs changing to suit an extension
• You are replacing the boiler and want the new appliance in a more practical location

How the work is delivered

The work starts with a site visit to confirm the most suitable new position and a compliant flue route. Pipework routes are planned to minimise disruption, then the boiler is isolated, disconnected and either reinstalled or replaced in the new location. Once connected, the system is filled, tested, commissioned and set up so it runs safely and efficiently.

Most relocations take 1 to 2 days, but complex pipe runs, difficult access, or additional upgrades can extend this.

After installation: safety, performance and handover

After commissioning, you will be shown how to operate the boiler and controls, and the installation will be left running correctly with pressures and settings checked. Where the work is notifiable, the relevant certification is issued for your records. If you are replacing the boiler at the same time, you can also discuss warranty registration and recommended servicing intervals for ongoing reliability.
